Our Solid Timber Dining Table

The aptly named Harvest, is a statement in over engineering. We made this table to debunk the theory that tables aren't made like they used to (be). The table top is made exclusively from solid 40mm planks of mango wood that run its length and the fake thick edge that is commonplace in the market for this style. A table designed to last generations.

My latest purchase of the Harvest dining table was the best yet. I brought it in the Tallow colouring and it looks amazing. Really happy with this and I will purchase more furniture in the near future. Great customer service and really great pricing. Excellent experience all round. Thank you Vast.

another decade, another Vast table

Already have had a Vast "old door" table for the last 10 years , and it looks better than the day we bought it ...it has a lot of use ! So for our new BBQ area we HAD to have another Vast table . This is INCREDIBLY heavy ...and thats perfect...because this table has a busy life ahead of it. We chose the 3m ..because we often have more than ten people dining at once, cheers!

Scandanavian inspired, the Jarda table's minimalist design incorporates splayed tapered solid timber legs and a sleek solid timber top.

Connecting these elements is a full ladder subframe that has been engineered to last decades.

Available in the 2 stain finishes RESTO and TALLOW, these tables are then sealed in our signature treatment which consists of five individual layers of premium hard-wearing German lacquer, hand applied and sanded in between each coating.

This provides a durable surface protection that easily stands up to boiling water, red wine spills, hot plates etc.

Identical in style to our popular Seville recycled range , the Jarda is manufactured from NEW mango wood, giving it a cleaner, more consistent look

Our Hardwood Dining Table

The Versi range takes its design influence from classic french parquetry flooring . Creating a timber mosaic of interlocking vectors is particularly difficult to execute correctly, and after 20 years we have it perfected.

The top comprises of 132 individually cut and fitted wedges of solid mango, skillfully assembled into a unique top design every time.

This sits upon a solid mango hardwood subframe and legs, designed in the mid century style.

The entire product is then hand coated with 5 coats of German lacquer.

The outcome is a table that is a timeless classic, built to withstand decades of mealtimes in style.

EXQUISITE QUALITY

As long time buyers of Vast products, we knew what to expect with our new Versi Dining Table purchase. This is our second Vast table ( the last one is nearly ten years old and still looks like new). The different colour timbers in the parquetry blend beautifully with the variety of colours in our dining area. Absolutely fabulous quality.

A word on leather...

We only do very expensive leather and this is why…

To best explain our position we can draw a simple analogy with TIMBER and some of its processed derivatives.

For instance solid timber is shaved when turned into veneer, laminated when turned into ply, and completely mashed when converted into MDF or particleboard. In each of these cases, there is no attempt to pass any of these off as solid timber. It’s very black and white.

The classification of leather however is a very different story. It can be laminated, shaved, and mashed into its completely new profile, and still be classified as leather.
Once we start to journey away from genuine hides (Aniline-Semi Aniline) it is a slippery slope, often with no real way of telling what/how the leather is made, and perhaps more importantly how it will perform in the years ahead.

After being in the industry purchasing leather sofas for 25 years we have decided that we cannot confidently trust any of the cheaper “leather options” to perform as well as the original leather that has been used in upholstery for over 120 years, today it is often called semi- aniline.

It is very expensive to produce, but for us, it’s the only option that we trust.
