Vast uses only the finest 100% Semi-Aniline leather from perhaps the most celebrated tannery in Northern Italy. 

These semi-aniline hides are hand finished by artisans using a combination of traditional waxes and protective oils to recreate the romance of leather that has been long lost in the furniture world. Over time and with use the natural surface markings will deepen into a beautiful distressed look, a testament to the authenticity of your Sofa.

Each hide is as unique as a fingerprint, showing the creases and scares of a natural product. We go to great lengths to use only the highest quality leather but the inevitable variations are just part of the individual appearance on this furniture. Wrinkles, bites, scars, creases and colour variations are common on leather furniture and it is this that distinguishes genuine leather from man-made look-a-likes. The markings on each hide tell the life story of the animal and are proof of the natural product. It would be impossible to hide them without destroying the beauty and softness of the material.

Although leather is one of the most durable upholstery materials, regular maintenance is important to keep it looking its best. A gentle dusting with a soft cloth is usually sufficient to keep it free of surface dirt and dust.

• Noticeable soiling can be wiped with a clean, damp cloth. But take care not to soak or vigorously rub the leather and always wipe with a dry cloth after cleaning.
• Never use detergent as it can destroy the protective coating on the leather.
• The finish does not need feeding or nourishing, so there is no need to use any maintenance products.
• If the surface of your sofa becomes badly soiled consult a specialist leather up-holstery cleaner for advice.
• Watch out for sharp objects, belt buckles and pets claws.
• Keep your sofa out of direct sunlight to avoid fading
• Place away from direct heat or radiators.
• Do not place hot plates or mugs on the arms or seats.
